Seriously! People on here are crazy, to think she was right!
Trolololol.
I find it odd, slightly insulting, and a bit funny that some people on this board stereotype those who dislike the revenge portion of the film as "whiny liberals". If anything, it's the conservative, misogynistic rape enthusiasts who seem to have the most problem with this aspect of the film. I'm a fairly progressive, left-leaning guy and I was enthusiastically in support of her quest for vengeance. I won't argue that it was morally sound to torture and kill these guys, and I don't care. If you attack, torture, gangrape and attempt to murder another human being your life no longer has value to me. If that sentiment really bothers you, it's not because of your finely tuned moral compass. It's because you found yourself relating to the villains, and it unsettles you that not everyone would forgive and make excuses for you if you and your redneck friends decided to beat and rape a girl one day.
All of you thinly veiled misogynist tards should stop hiding behind your imaginary morality and juvenile, reductionist "insults" (AHUUR DURRRRR LIBREALSSS). But then...I guess you wouldn't have anything to say.
LOL at people melting down over fictional characters.
We're mad at Mike. Do you know who we're mad at? Mike? You dang right!
Call me whatever, she WAS RIGHT. Might've went overboard with the revenge, but she was ****ing right.
shareShe is not right and I think when the movie carried on, she should go to jail for the brutal killing.
But those guys, honestly got what they deserved. I believe in the legal system and I trust them with my life but any system has flaws and you simply cannot correct it to perfection.
That is why people still try to seek ways to protection themselves; you simply cannot think that nothing will ever happen to you and everyone in the world are nice. Being alone as girl in a isolated area where weather is warm and surrounding is unfamiliar, it is simply not safe enough.
The movie is about rape and revenge but in most cases, the girls probably don't go to the 'revenge' part.
There is a movie called 'Mommy Don't Cry'. It is a Korean movie and also a 'rape and revenge' movie. Much less brutal but the whole movie is just extremely sad but I really believe it can happen.
The law did not protect the victim but the rapist due to the culture of the country; in fact, the law protected the rapist from the revenge in that movie. The desperation of that movie I think is better than 'I spit on your grave' and more realistic.

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Enough said.
shareI actually think she let some of them off to easy. If she sat there until for cops came to arrest her and accepted her punishment I would like her even more. Yeah what she did was wrong but they deserved it and she deserves to go to jail for it.
Clark Kent + Lois Lane 4ever
DC Can Suck It
I have no problem with what she did.
"A real man would rather bow down to a strong woman than dominate a weak one"
I'm liberal in some ways, but conservative in others. The rapists got what they deserved, especially the sheriff. I've seen the original and this remake is better. Cringeworthy, but better.
<<Death is whimsical today.>>
Butler was very good in her role too! Yes, everything she did was justified because they were responsible for bringing out the monster inside her!
"A real man would rather bow down to a strong woman than dominate a weak one"
Yeah what she did was wrong but they deserved it and she deserves to go to jail for it.
____________
I look at it like this, they were the instigators and what THEY DID was wrong. She took the law into her own hands; but she was lucky to survive herself. If the law says she is wrong, it doesn't exactly mean that it is right. Hypothetically, if she did plead 'not guilty' and went to trial, would any jury in their right mind want to convict her? Or if they did find her 'guilty', it should be on the grounds of non-imprisonment, with psychological counseling to be provided and perhaps a brief stay of internment in a mental health care facility.

Well in this remake Nan, she certainly knew how to be creative, even if the revenge set up did appear a little implausible for a smallish woman to devise and physically carry out on her own.

LMFAO!!! Omg guys, it's just a movie...chill the f#ck out...you all must be real fun at parties..
shareIt's a movie but the issues are real.
Girls are raped and killed all the time, that's the world we live in.
Going through the things Jennifer does in this movie does give her a right to retaliate in full force, and more.
How is it even in debate? We all know in our bones, THIS is true justice.

She was right, she was brutally raped and humiliated, of course she would take revenge, to be fair if i was in her place i would do far worse.
"No one's gonna take my soul away i'm living like Targaryen"
human rights are for humans. rapists aren't humans, they're monsters; and monsters need putting down.
