Am I the only one who enjoyed this movie?

This movie seems to get a whole lot of hate and I don't get it. Yes, realistically this could never happen N.Korea blah blah blah, but it's a movie. It is supposed to entertain, not be %100 fact based and "OMG DIS COULD HAPEN!1!!1". I personally really liked it, so tell me why you did/n't like it

The casting is absolutely HORRIBLE.

Josh Peck?? Seriously??? Someone should be punched in the face for that one.

And Connor Cruise is horrible too, BTW.

"It is supposed to entertain" - Very entertaining if ya ask me!

As entertainment it was fine with some quite good action sequences. In every other respect it was old-fashioned American gung-ho, macho rubbish. The 1984 film, while limited because of it's budget, was far superior.

you know why ppl hate this movie? cause most of the americans are too stupid (im not saying all americans are dumb) to belive any *beep* happening from this movie.

srsly the same hate was for the game HOMEFRONT which tells almost the same story: usa attacked by NKor and you are a member of a resistance (the game was a soso shooter but the actual setting and mood of the game was pretty good). and what did almost every review focused on? "this cant be real NORTH KOREA ATTACKIN US? THE MURICA? not on my watch!"

the same goes for this movie. americans (and even some foreigners) cant bear the fact that some other country is invading them. this just cant happen for some ppl. and if that is not the problem, then teenagers fighting off trained soldier are a no-no.

so, what i'm sayin is:
1. 9/11 did happend so dont sell *beep* that murica is too powerfull
2. EMP NEMP HEMP (google it)
3. most of the ppl would *beep* their pants if actual paratroopers were going to drop ontheir asses
4. guerrilla warfare and tactics can be quite effective...
5. ..even by teenagers (again, google historic examples)
6. arguing on the NKor soldiers qualifications? we can assume NKor army in this kind of situation would consist from not well trained males that were FORCED into army (again, google on how big the nkor army is now and can be; they can obliterate with numbers not quality)
7. NKor attacking some *beep* ass village? well if somebody is putting this argument on then it means he/she did not listen to the movie EXPLAINING LIKE AN IDIOT that it's just another warfront and big part of america is still free and fighting

i liked it. not the best film ive seen but not the worst. josh peck idk who he was before this flick. but as for his character being whiney and all that. hes a 17 yo kid. lord knows 17 yo olds dont pout or do stupid things. hes not going to be a hardened fellow like his dad or brother whos had to kill people and seen all kinds of bad things and trained to do it. most 17 yo kids would bury there head in the sand instead.

I suspect if you watched the first one first and still liked the remake, then you might be. ^_^

I enjoyed it. Fun popcorn movie.

I enjoyed it too. I don't understand the criticism of Josh Peck's performance either. If you dislike the character, fine. His own brother calls him out on his selfishness. However I thought the acting was no worse than anyone else's in the film.

I'm not keen to see a sequel though and would rather they wrapped it up at the end. We already knew the resistance was bigger than the original Wolverines from the radio reports and what the Marines said. Josh Peck repeating his brother's speech while we were shown new members of the resistance firing weapons wasn't a completely satisfying ending IMO.
