Terrible child actor
What. The. Hell?! Judah could not even memorize his lines? He is reading cue cards on set? There wasn't anyone else they could get?

shareGuy, this was a $50.000.000 production - do you really think they couldn't find a better child actor and no one on set noticed? Of course that was on purpose!

That kid was really, really *beep* funny.
Especially him saying goodbye to Doby.
I agree with other poster above.
This is a 50 million dollar production with several brilliant comedic minds behind it.
It only worked for one or two moments, but it was entirely intentional.

Actually it is what intended to be. He did a way better job than Will Farrell himself for that matter.
shareI first thought he was a terrible child actor, but he was so consistent in that awfulness that I suspected it was intentional, and the 'gift' scene left no doubt to me. It doesn't even look as the child did his best and failed, it looked like he was 'directed' to act badly and mechanically recite his lines. I saw the film in the original and dubbed version, even in the dubbed version, the way the kid speaks is bad, I don't think they also hired a bad voice-actor.
Darth Vader is scary and I The Godfather
If it WAS intentional, why wasn't it funny?

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.
