Kanye West?

I can think of literally 50 people I would've marked for over Kanye in one of those awesome cameo roles in the big battle. What a waste!

Why not Robert Downey Jr, Alec Balwin, Will Arnett, Neil Patrick Harris, Stephen Colbert?

If they really wanted a musician to play that MTV anchor role then Justin Timberlake would have been fine. At least he has comedic experience.

I did love seeing Jim Carey, Sacha Baron Cohen, and John C Reilly, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler though.

Kanye is a cocky douche who doesn't deserve his fame.

I thought Kanye West was okay, he's no actor that's for sure. He wasn't a big part of the movie so I really didn't mind. I do agree that Justin Timberlake would have been an awesome cameo though.

I actually really enjoyed Kanye in the film. He gets portrayed by the media as a giant tool most of the time (Which is deserved, admittedly, from his speech and actions on occasion) but he's not Hitler. He probably got the call, like 90% of the cameos, and thought "Screw it, let's go have a bit of fun".

And let me say, he may not be an actor - But I enjoyed his role more than Harrison Ford, Kirsten Dunst, Kristin Wiig, and Steve Carrell's.

@OP...also don't forget Marillon Cotillard...Oscar winner...and all around awesome actress!

As for Kanye West...yeah agreed, that guy is annoying in any time period!

That was my biggest gripe about the movie, which overall I thought was really funny. I could go the rest of my life without seeing or hearing about Kayne West, and anyone in the universe would have been a better cameo than him.

Kanye is not really a great actor but I thought his character was a parody of his obnoxious god like behavior.

reply

That was no parody. That was Kanye being Kanye. Hard to tell the difference, ain't it? lol

I loved that Kanye did a cameo, Timberlake obviously would've done this in an instant, while the shock of Kanye doing this was hilarious. Glad KW has a sense of humor to get crazy.

he's horrible, worst thing about the film, he's somehow popular so he gets to be on tv for some reason, or he's "connected" if you know what I mean haha

...oh yeah and of course he's a gay fish

Kanye was a bit much in this film.

Kanye West became a part of MTV pop culture from his famous line "I'mma let you finish"... That's probably why he was there representing MTV.

As for his face, MAJORITY of the world's population who are into movies and such probably don't know who that guy was - they would have to look him up if they could be bothered. I did - I thought it was Jason Derulo. When I found out it was Kanye, it kinda made sense.

I like justin timberlake as much as the next guy but he would have been too obvious to play the MTV guy, being that he has acting experience etc. Although I knew Kanye was making a cameo it seemed fresher.
