Anyone else like both the original and the remake?

Anyone else just like both films? I mean, I always see alot of people argue about remakes but when there is an actual good remake of the film for instance with the TGWTDT remake, most fans of the original will dislike whoever liked the remake. I really liked REC & Quarantine, I really loved both Dawn of the Dead and both Carrie films (Spacek & Moretz) and while I haven't seen the original LTROI yet, I really enjoyed this remake. I will soon watch the original but I want to know if anyone else like both this version & the remake? Most don't seem to think you CAN but I want to know if anyone did?

I liked this film. I'd never heard of the Europe version until visiting this board and being bombarded with those talking about the Norwegian, Swedish, whatever version. I don't care that one exists and it is irrelevant to me in regards to seeing THIS film. I don't think I've ever seen a movie out of Norway. Is this board visited by 1,000,000 Norwegians? Otherwise why is this board swallowed up by blathering about movies from other countries that are not THIS particular film. It's kind of annoying.

To sum up. I liked this film very much. I've never seen nor do I care about the other version. If I did see it I'd go to the board for THAT film to make comments.

Humans have a need for people to like the same things they like in art. It's completely subjective, but some still need validation. So the existence of this movie is seen as a "threat" by fans of that movie. The possibility that other people could have an option to like a different version of the story is seen as an outrage to them. So they throw fits and stamp their feet. The attacks on LMI began many months before it was actually released. Any person who liked this movie was insulted as "too lazy to read subtitles" (I guess a person is supposed to "work" when they watch movies?) My favorite was "Hollywood stole this movie!" ....even though a British studio made it and the Swedish producers were actually behind the whole idea of an English remake.

I think most of them have calmed down and realized it ok for other people to like different movies and that storytelling is a long tradition which is enriched by various storytellers telling the same tales.

Many of the LMI haters are actually hipster types from the US. Much cooler than normal people because they watch foreign films.
