It's quite clear that Star Wars, the MCU have been chewed up, spat out and commodified for generic watching for some time now. It's also quite clear to me that they were always primarily for teenage kids and general family watches. I really don't get the obsession.

Marvel studio started with the idea to make movies for young adults, it was only for kids when Disney took over.

Lucas however geared prequels towards kids (jar jar binks), but I think the originals were for young adults.

How many 'kids' have Leia fantasies? She was definitely not wearing the gold bikini for children.

Then again that is just my opinion.

Also if you watched the theatrical version of 'empire strike back', not that lucasfilm version released with prequels, and still "don't quite get it" only then you can say you don't like star wars.
