This is your reminder that there does exist other TV series outside of Star Wars and the MCU
You're welcome.
You don't have to live in perpetual anger and opposition over this.
Dear me
You're welcome.
You don't have to live in perpetual anger and opposition over this.
Dear me
If you used to be a fan of Marvel and Star Wars, pre-Disney at least, I doubt you could act so obliviously.
shareI didn't. But I find all this teeth gnashing silly
shareOnly if you were not a fan.
shareIt's quite clear that Star Wars, the MCU have been chewed up, spat out and commodified for generic watching for some time now. It's also quite clear to me that they were always primarily for teenage kids and general family watches. I really don't get the obsession.
shareMarvel studio started with the idea to make movies for young adults, it was only for kids when Disney took over.
Lucas however geared prequels towards kids (jar jar binks), but I think the originals were for young adults.
How many 'kids' have Leia fantasies? She was definitely not wearing the gold bikini for children.
Then again that is just my opinion.
Like Touched by an Angel?
shareWise words from a retard. If you're not a fan, then you don't get it and never will. So why burden everyone else with your stupidity?
shareStar Wars has been commodified and made generic for years. I don't get the constant gnashing of teeth.
I also don't quite get the obsession with the universe at all, to be frank.
Then why are you even here? In your own words, why even bothered to be a part of conversation on something you so obviously don't care?
shareI keep seeing endless people complaining about this specific show and it's bizarre given all the media options accessible to us now.
shareSo you're here to save people from wasting their time on something YOU think is unnecessary?
This is part of the culture war, dummy and we're not going to let it slide any more.
>This is part of the culture war, dummy and we're not going to let it slide any more.
What do you want to do about it exactly? Acolyte is shit. So? There's plenty of other shows and films around.
It's not about the show sucking. Lots of shows and movies suck. It's about WHY it sucks and the agenda behind it. It's the under-handed way the agenda is being fed to our kids.
shareWhat agenda is it in The Acolytes case? That it has some LGBT characters as main characters? This is, what a TV-14 show. Teenagers and adults watch it (or should).
shareAlso if you watched the theatrical version of 'empire strike back', not that lucasfilm version released with prequels, and still "don't quite get it" only then you can say you don't like star wars.
But I suspect you did not watch that.
It doesn't interest me as a universe.
shareIf you just watched the prequels and lucasfilm version of originals, yeah, I get that.
If you just watched the Disney trilogy, I totally get that, believe me.
It doesn't interest me full stop. In terms of sci-fi worlds: Farscape, BSG, Mass Effect, The Expanse are of much more interest to me.
shareSo you haven't even watched it, yet here you are, why? Showing your ignorance?
If you are not interested so nobody should? We should only talk about things you are interested?
Are you some kind of film Nazi?
More bizarre to see people wailing about it when Star Wars has been in a malaise for some time (Andor excepted, apparently)
shareAnd yet you watched the new crap I haven't even bothered to watch.
shareI haven't watched any star wars.
shareThen stop talking about it.
shareI'm not directly. I'm more trying to appeal to people to broaden their entertainment options beyond the MCU and Star Wars.
shareIt is like you never ate caviar before, people are obsessing with it, and you don't understand.
That is because you are so obviously ignorant.
Try the caviar first, or stop talking about it, otherwise you are just puking out nonsense.
You are the one needs broadening.
I mean when I say that there's more to modern media than the MCU and Star Wars - that's not me shitting on them necessarily, it's me suggesting to those aggrieved with their directions to try something new.
share>You are the one needs broadening.
I disagree strongly here. I feel I have a much broader palette of content exposure than people who watch Disney TV shows and films. (Not saying you do, but a lot of people do)
It is like you are saying:"You've got to try McDonald, because you kept complaining some fancy French restaurants, and you need to broaden your horizon".
At this point I am seriously considering to put your on ignore list.
Stop putting down things you don't know, otherwise people might think you are a troll. Actually they already started calling you that, I am starting to agree.
>It is like you are saying:"You've got to try McDonald, because you kept complaining some fancy French restaurants, and you need to broaden your horizon".
In this analogy are you portraying Star Wars and the MCU as "fancy French restaurants" and implying I watch trash (McDonalds)?
>Stop putting down things you don't know, otherwise people might think you are a troll. Actually they already started calling you that, I am starting to agree.
I didn't put it down. I suggested people exhausted and outraged about the MCU/Star Wars (Star Wars in this case) watch other modern things. Since Acolyte is not the first show in Star Wars to get this level of rebuke.
In this analogy are you portraying Star Wars and the MCU as "fancy French restaurants" and implying I watch trash?
How would *you* know the difference? Again. I didn't put it down. I suggested people exhausted and outraged about the MCU/Star Wars (Star Wars in this case) watch other modern things. Since Acolyte is not the first show in Star Wars to get this level of rebuke.
Imagine being such a little snowflake.
I get it now. I have been so blind.
I think you are from a competitor of Disney, that is the only logical reason I can think of why you persistently trying to steer people off Disney shows. This is not even the first time.
This place is crawling with influencers.
Anyway, adiós.
This is a small obscure movie forum.
But that is the funniest conspiracy theory I've seen on here directed at me.
Yeah, like all influencers, your responses are even all the same.
Conspiracy theorist!
Did you guys use the same script?
Such a cliché!
Anyway, now I know what you are, off you go on the ignore list.
>Yeah, like all influencers, your responses are even all the same.
You got that just from "This is a small obscure movie forum."?
Imagine being so weirdly tainted in the head that you think someone suggesting you branch out from the MCU is actually a shill from some Disney competitor trying to trick you. That is peak Disneybrain.
Everything Skavau loves is empty, gay bullshit. You are dead inside, so piss off, TROLL bitch.
shareWhat is it you think I love? What are some examples?
shareEverything Skavau loves is empty, gay bullshit. You are dead inside, so piss off, TROLL bitch.
shareI'll do what I like. I'll ask again: What is it you think I love? What are some examples?
shareThere isn’t a whole lot of anger anymore. Bewilderment and outrage occurs when fans are still invested. We’re in the apathy stage. Star Wars is a zombie franchise.
shareWe already know that. Next.
