Reasons I don't want Mad Max: Wasteland, another prequel.
More CGI. Miller full on said he'll never do a full bore practical shoot again, it almost killed him. (Respect btw)
Likely another recast considering how piss poor Tom, Charlize and George got along.
Mad Max fucking loses in the end. The girl dies. Pretty sure everybody dies. That's why he's haunted by their ghosts. It's a big long bummer and everybody dies in the end. Max might kill a few maniacs along the way. Pave the way for his and Furiosa's eventual domination. But come on. The movie is gonna be a colossal bummer.
No connective tissue to the fall of civilization whatsoever. The origin of Mad Max. This movie pretty much buried it. But a proper Fury Road prequel is gonna pave a parking lot over the remains. We understand Max, or Rick, a cop from our world pushed beyond the boundaries of sanity. This has become full on fantasy. I estimate at least three generations removed from modern society.
We all of us fans hope, if it was a true prequel, for two fucking hours of Max in his car. We know we won't get the dog. Two hours of this fly in the ointment Max, pulling hairs on these gangs. Chuckling at their wee warlords. Till finally they get the best of him. And rue the day.
Dementus would have loved Max. I don't think they ever met.
