Worth a trip to the cinema or should I wait for the digital release?
Title.
shareIf you like to see beatiful visuals, yes!
If you like Anthology shows like Outer Limits or Black Mirror, yes!
If you like other movies from Edwards like Monsters or Godzilla, yes!
If you like well established SciFi worlds, no!
If you have watched enough Vietnam-SciFi analogies, no!
If you easily get bored by long-winded, pretentious stories, no!
Nope.
Just wait for it.
I don't even plan to watch it again when free on digital.
I was bored, didn't care, didn't connect.
It's very well made, even decently acted, just dull, even during the stupid action scenes.
It smelt like star wars sounds, droids, actions.
I regret wasting my money.
Too many large cgi scenery scenes. Ugh
Too many large cgi scenery scenes. Ugh
although it was filmed on location and does show real stuff, most of those scenes are also backgrounded with tons of CGI - large sci-fi things, not to mention tons of background and set pieces like the fire fight locations, big door etc.
and these location scenes are on screen twice as long as they should be being a "Look at me" CGI shot. far too many of those. I should have started counting and timing them as I was that bored from them.
I have AMC A-List, so that's the only way I am okay with spending money on something like this movie.
It's basically free for me anyway.
Not worth a trip to the cinema, you should just wait for the digital release.
shareDigital, pretty, but meh
shareWorth the trip. My gf and I just came back from seeing it and we both thought it was quite excellent. 8/10

Wait for the digital release.
🤔
Would have been better as a TV miniseries, maybe?
shareIf you love big epic sci fi with great visuals and an emotional but exciting storyline then definitely watch it on the big screen.
