Quite good

Would had been better to had been named The Witcher: Castlevania.

Unfortunately the story is not as original as the Castlevania one, lots of stereotypes and the story is quite common.

The animation is amazing, fight scene pretty well done. The OST is quite close to the game music.

Overall I would agree with the IDMB rating.

PS: the introduction of black characters in medieval European setting was a bit off but there were pretty few and it wasn't as bad as in the show.

Castlevania was good for 1 season - then it became garbage.
This movie was OK though - I enjoyed it, nearly as much as Castlevania's 1st season.

reply

Well, I liked all 3 seasons of Castlevania. Pretty original story.

I'm three minutes in and wow that poor family!

you mean the show? Triss says "HELLO"

reply

I mean the animated movie.

And I don't remember seeing Triss in this.

reply

Ah, I mistakenly assumed you meant The Witcher show with Henry Cavill.

I realized that. Wouldn't it be easier to check the movie that the thread is assigned to? :D

"The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (2021)"

Was the second "as" a typo? This is the part that threw me off. Since you already mentioned the game music earlier, the only logical assumption (to me) was that you were making a comparison to something else, perhaps the netflix show that came out before and had even worse problems with black characters that had no business being there at all. Triss was the worst offender imho, not only race swapped but also ugly as sin.

reply

Right, was supposed to be "as in the show".
