Hugely Overrated.

No. Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar, and The Shape of Water are all overrated. District 9, however, deserves all the praise and recognition it gets!

I never liked the idea of how the aliens were treated in the film, and after reading the plot on wikipedia, I was even less interested. It sounded like crap, was depressing, and was almost naked propaganda for apartheid; as if the movie-makers assumed the audience would be too stupid to figure it out on their own.

Deserves all the praise, and then some.

It is overrated because of its neomarxist pro refugees message. As a film it's mediocre and very forgettable not as great as noobs think

It's one of my favorite sci fi movies. Not looking into the politics of it, it has great special effects and action that can't be ignored.
