Tried to watch - very bad movie

Out of curiosity, I watched a bit of the movie on one of the piracy sites (cause I don’t want to pay and help support the filmmakers).

The movie is really bad. The plot is undeveloped, there are some cringe lines, and the musical aspect feels so random and pointless. The characters just start singing awkwardly at certain points. Arthur Fleck and Lady Gaga fall deeply in love, I guess, yet the movie doesn’t even make an effort to explain what draws them together: they just see each other, and Gaga awkwardly makes a gun hand gesture to her face all of a sudden. I get that Gaga can sing, but I really don’t think she was right for this role . The movie feels a bit too jumbled. It is part prison-movie, part-romance, part-courtroom drama, and part-musical . They should have picked one area and went full-on with it

I liked it.

He was an extremely lonely person his whole life. She was attracted to him because of his fame and criminality. During the trial when he dropped the act and confessed and showed weakness she dumped him.

I might have watched it in a similar way... If so the best parts were the funny Indian adverts that popped up occasionally

Piracy. It's a crime.

You wouldn't steal a car.

I'd try downloading it though.

Madness is what draws them together. They are both stricken by madness, and it is not accidental that they meet each other in an asylum.

I thought the movie made clear that Lee wasn’t actually insane. She checked herself in and out of the hospital.

No sane person would want to lock themselves in an asylum to come head to head with their psychotic idol charged with murders.
