If you could go back in time and view 3 acts from Woodstock
Who would they be?
I'd go with:
1. Jimi Hendrix
2. The Who
3. CCR
Jefferson Airplane would be a close 4th.

I thought Soul Sacrifice was the best performance from the film, hands-down. The drummer, Michael Schrieve, is just simply amazing.
Dang, I think I would just settle for seeing the Doc again. I simply cannot whittle my choices down this far, sorry. The whole fest blew me away.
I heard an NPR radio host say the other day, that ... Carlos Santana was the only act who was half-way to being somewhat sober for his set, and for that reason, he performed with the most musical proficiency, according to the host.
I guess I'd go with The Airplane for being the most entertaining, at 6:30 am, ha! They got better as their set progressed, I recall.
I read that Carlos took acid and didn't know he was to go on stage as early as he did and was fighting a snake while he was playing guitar.
shareEasy:
1. Janis Joplin
2. Sly & The Family Stone
3. Santana
Jimi Hendrix would be my 4th.
But'cha Y'Are, Blanche! Y'Are In That Chair!

District 9 - 9.5/10
1. The Who
2. Jimi Hendrix
3. Canned Heat

What's wrong with Jimi and The Who? They were obviously the big stars of Woodstock and by far the best acts.
shareClearly nothing is wrong with Jimi and The Who. I don't think that's what he meant. There were lots of stars there. They just weren't the only stars.

Many of the bands themselves believed they did not play at their best. Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane admittedly sucked! The Who also actually thought it was one of their worst shows. That just shows how great they were when they were "on"! If the Woodstock performance was bad, imagine how great they normally were. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young could not have been that great considering it was one of their first shows ever! John Sebastion was so high, he could barely sing. Joan Baez was on her game I guess, but I wouldn't want to go back and hear her ramble. Jimi didn't have to be at his best....he's Jimi...that's enough..he's like The Who.
