This show is rushing things and will run out of steam by the end of the first season

The way they are just rushing everything with all the time jumps, characters introduced and "dealt with" on the very same scene and the like this show won't have any steam left by the end of the season. They are not taking their time with anything but seem in a hurry to get to whatever point they are supposed to be getting to. They are just rushing from one "shocking" moment to the next.

Rings of Power on the other hand is taking it's time with it's world and character and will end up having more longevity.

Actually I would say episode 5 have been the most rushed, its been quite slow until now. Obviously they were trying to pack in a lot of changes before the big time jump next week.

We'll see if it works....

The new actresses will bring the show down I fear.

I don't know much about Emma D'Arcy, the actress replacing Milly Alcock but she's supposed to be a good actress, atleast according to some of our members here, she is.

We'll have to wait and see.

I'd rather have a single season of something awesome than 5 seasons of dogshit.

reply

you think they're rushing? all that's happened is boring women drama bullshit. how much slower did you want them to go?

reply

lol I thought it was just me! Rushing? The fucking show moves at a glacial pace.

reply

I wish I could disagree because i really like the show so far. But the time jump(s) and Viserys dying so early in the season feels very rushed. Also the cast change will probably make it feel like a total different show, and all that in the first season.

I guess they just want to get into the all out Targaryen civil war as quick as possible.

reply

He's not dead yet, he just keeps passing out.

reply

It's a bit weird for the king to die now and then jump forward.

I would expect the trigger for the civil war to be the death of the King, I don't see any reason for them to wait x years before they realize that they have a beef about who's on the throne.

The preview for episode 6 is on youtube.

The series is supposed to run for four seasons and feature generations of Targaryens. The time jumps are necessary.
