Actually you have it reversed. Wes Anderson just copies things from Paddington and other children's stories.
Although he did do a good job with Fantastic Mr. Fox.

shareI don't think I'd say "wannabe", but I definitely picked up a Wes Anderson vibe. I think that has a lot to do with the way Wes likes to tell stories in a visual, simplistic, and episodic manner.

I agree that Paddington had a Wes Anderson feel... but I think that's what helped make the movie so utterly enjoyable to me. I mean, if I say something is Hitchcockian then I don't mean that as an insult...
Also, I really do like Wes Anderson movies... but I definitely don't think Anderson tends to go out of his way to make you care about most of his characters. Paddington certainly put in a fair amount of effort in that department, however - so I'm not sure if that's a very good criticism whether you, personally, decided to care about the characters in
Paddington or not.
Nope not at all thank god, not a fan of Wes Anderson (he butchered Mr Fox), this certainly didn't feel anything like one of his movies.
