Disgusting excuse for a woman

I would rather dive into a pool of my own vomit than watch anything Sasha Grey is in. Calling her an adult film star is a compliment. She is a violent sex movie star. Being gang-humped, punched and slapped is her forte. She portrays women as sex machines to be used and abused. Unfortunately, there are people who can't differentiate between good and bad... acting verses reality, i.e. Ted Bundy. By portraying herself as a woman who is willing to participate in violent sex and abuse, she endangers women.

For the record, I didn't give an opinion on Sasha Grey as a person. My point was (on the other post) that its retarded not to watch a movie because a porn star you don't like (even though you admit to watching at least 1 of her movies) is in it for about 3 minutes. Also, I like how you label people sheeple (brilliant by the way) for what you consider to be defending someone you find repulsive. I have no desire to find out any more about Sasha Grey than the fact that she's in I Melt With You (a movie I happened to really like) or to watch any of her porn films.

Just so I understand:

You feel that Sasha Grey is subhuman scum for allowing herself to be destroyed physically, morally and emotionally by herds of sociopaths at the behest of sadistic managers, pimps, producers and backroom types, correct? And you feel this way because you actually believe that the adult film industry's slaughterhouse of exploitation is the fault of the actresses?

I would agree that Grey's a violent sex star because that's what the porn industry has become: an assembly line of torture and nullification for young women. But blaming Grey for that is exactly the kind of three-card misogyny that created violent sex stars in the first place. I don't have an opinion of Sasha Grey as an actress or person because I don't know her and haven't seen her work. But I highly doubt that the films she's made were ones she'd have ever chosen to make when she first entered that industry.

I do intend to see The Girlfriend Experience because it seems a departure for Soderburg. And if it might help a porn actress escape the sealed garage of that industry, with its phenomenal ratio of suicides and drug casualties, then I'm all for it no matter who she is. And if she doesn't escape or chooses not to, at least she got the chance to try.

P.S. to the person who likes to call others fascists without actually knowing what the word means (hint -- it doesn't mean self-righteousness):

Questioning the logic of moatshark's opinion is as much my right as it is for moatshark to have one.

reply

1. Linking porn to the actions of Ted Bundy, and holding Sasha Grey responsible is ridiculous.
2. Looking at moatshark's history, he has started threads on the boards of 3 different movies starring Sasha Grey.
3. moatshark seems to have indepth knowledge of her movies, indicating he has seen them.
4. WTF

Your post = slut shaming, and a prime example at that. She chooses to work in the porn industry and have freaky sex on film. That's her choice alone and it doesn't reflect on all women. Ah, and also, if she's bad for enjoying gang banging, then so is the rest of the gang participating. Human sexuality is complicated and you can never fully understand why some people get off the way they do.

Even if she doesn't actually like those things and she pretends she does for the money, then that's also a choice (not one I particularly admire). But then, other women should also stand up and say 'hey, you know what, that's just her. I'm not into that'. She's not a spokeperson for all women - she can't be. She just doesnt have that sort of power.

On the other hand, I can understand how violent porn may help sustain the crappy violence-against-women culture.. Like, if someone wants to hit people, seeing it on film validates it somehow. But you can't blame the people willingly (because of the enjoyment and/or the money/fame involved) engage in filming adult videos. Blame, uh, the actual people who hit women (and not in the context of some fancy sex roleplay).

I wish Sasha Grey's videos weren't viewed as the 'epitome of edgy' or 'disgusting filth' by people. It's masturbation material. I also wish there were more diverse kinds of porn, and we were not that geared towards such violent stuff - ie, there's way more violent stuff than stuff with smiling people out there with respect to adult videos. I find it very weird that for most people, smiling people in porn would negatively affect their b0ners. But you can't blame Sasha Gray for not wanting to do the kind of porn that would be more pleasant for you to watch. You can dislike her for that, but it still says nothing about her worth as a person. It's her choice to do what she does, so leave her alone.

"Slut shaming"? Do you think that being a slut and a whore is a good thing, and something to be proud of?

Ok for starters I do not hate Sasha Grey and I intend to watch The Girlfriend Experience but you cannot really defend some of the things she has done imo.

After finding out she was in this I actually watched some of her scenes and what I felt most was sadness. Sad, that a very attractive young girl, who I think it is safe to say has been badly abused in her life, felt the need to be involved in one of the worst parts of a horrible industry that ultimately will use and abuse girls.

I read that while active in the porn industry she said that she enjoyed her work and came on camera etc only to then say the exact opposite when she left. After leaving she obviously deeply regretted being involved in so many disgusting acts and I wonder how much money she has to show for it now. Not as much as she thought she would have I bet.

However its alright saying that the porn industry abused her but at the end of the day nobody put a gun to her head and forced her to do gangbangs and the like so who is really to blame? Did she have a drug habit to support? Very possibly.

Is her need to be dominated, subservient and humiliated a result of being abused as a young girl? I would say very likely. Sad but true.

Some people might genuinely like those things but most would be like that for a reason.

I really feel for this girl and you have to wonder how her experience in porn will affect her in 10 years, in 20 years and for the rest of her life. I wonder what kind of relationship she has with her family, I wonder what kind of opinion she has of her self. I could almost guarantee she will be full of self loathing and regrets. I also would not be surprised to see her return to porn in future even though she has criticized the industry as many performers find it hard to leave and not go back. Its kinda like smoking, very bad for you but very hard to give up.

I prey that Miss Grey finds her true calling in life and some inner peace.
