Halfway through 3rd episode...does this pick up?

shareWell in the final episode you have the line where the girl tells the narrator "Yeah but you set it up wrong, its not a ghost story, its a love story". So i think that line alone tells you why this season wasn't scary or full of jump scares, it had ghosts but it was indeed more of a dark love story.
I think they wanted to take this season in a different direction and not try and be the same kinda vibe of the first season, and it caught alot of people off guard cause they was expecting the same kinda season as the first.
I didn't hate it, it definitely wasn't as good as the first season though. It'll be interesting to see what what kind of direction they take with the 3rd season.
It's not about being void of jump scares or horror elements ... my problem was that up to ep 5 nothing really happened. The intro was way too long and i almost lost interest as well.
With 5 things start to move, finally.
Not even close to "season 1" which was not just scarier but everything was deeper, the whole family drama was much more well contextualized and explored - plus there was a lot of it.
Yeah theres definitely no comparison, season 1 is on a level that Bly Manor couldn't even begin to reach. Season 1 being so good is coming back to bite them in the ass lol, its gonna be really hard to make a season that tops it, and most likely every season they make never will. Kinda like how Dexter season 4 was so good that they could never make another season as good as it, so all the seasons after it sucked ass or at least was never as good as season 4.
