What an overrated movie
A total snooze fest. What's the point of this movie? Why do people like it?
shareA total snooze fest. What's the point of this movie? Why do people like it?
shareWe just do. Get over it.
shareThat's no answer.
shareAn answer would take an essay on cinematography, and you just aren't worth it.
shareCinematography doesn't make a movie.
shareButthurt doesn't make a thread.
shareWhat butt hurt? I was genuinely asking a question what makes this movie good.
shareNo, you were asserting the opposite, with zero reasoning. If your argument is the movie is a snoozefest, my argument is I wasn't tired. If your argument is that there's no point, I would probably run out of fingers listing all the themes and messages of the movie, which alone makes it rare art. If your argument is cinematography doesn't make a movie, the dictionary says it does. You are a fucking waste of time troll. What makes the movie good? Fucking everything.
Oh, so if I cut the sound out, that's cinematography? The sound is fucking amazing as well... lol there, nailed it.
That wasn't an argument, that was just my personal opinion you moron. The latter part of my post was a genuine question. Just because I found the movie boring, it doesn't mean someone on the forum can point out what makes the movie good and change my mind at least to an extent. And no, cinematography doesn't make a movie. It can be the best cinematography in the world, the movie can still be shit. No single thing by itself makes a movie.
Good thing you have no argument.
shareYup, I wasn't arguing. Just expressing personal preference and asking a question.
shareYeah and refusing to understand the answer, just like you refuse to understand the movie. That's your own choice.
shareYou provided no answer beside cinematography. I politely ask a question, you provide no answer except personal attacks because you're butt hurt I didn't like your precious movie.
shareI answered. You played dumb about it. There's no point to you. You're simply a hater. Have fun trolling.
shareNope, no answer beside cinematography. If I was refusing to see the good sides of the movie, I wouldn't be asking questions.
shareDidn't realize I needed an answer besides cinematography. I'll just go with that. Sure. Cinematography, and nothing else. Normally, people would call that a strawman argument on your part. But since you're too dumb, dishonest, or cowardly to actually have an argument, it doesn't matter.
shareAgain no answer besides cinematography. Since we've established cinematography doesn't make a movie, you haven't provided an answer why this movie is good, yet you continually engage in childish personal attack against me for not liking it.
shareAs time has passed I find it kinda bad. Someone said its half baked and I agree. It doesnt feel like a full story. There was a kernel of an idea that was unfulfilled. Its worth seeing but its like a lesser episode of TTZ.
shareI'm not sure what you wanted, unless it's the origins or purpose of the alien, which completely goes against cosmic horror.

I found it sort of average, but has some good moments, some nice ideas.
shareSame as any other movie ever made. Your favorite movie is probably disliked by many.
it's just how it is, everyone is different.
Because people have no taste anymore.
shareIt's not just a snooze fest, it's horrible. Started off rocky, and only got worse. By the third act it had ventured into pure Shyamalanic dreck, and I had the extreme urge to fast forward and get to the end.
It's one of those "so bad and cringy that it's really hard to keep watching" films. Like Lady in the Water for instance. You eventually don't give the slightest shit about what's going on and just want it to end, because the narrative/characters are fragmented and almost nonexistent... not to mention the film is pretentiously stretched out. It really wants you to care, but has done a horrendous job at it.
I'm not a big fan of Peele but no doubt he can do way better than this. His next film will be very telling - we'll see whether he continues to circle the drain, getting ever closer to pure mediocre oblivion, or pulls himself out.
