Is Jordan Peele
this generation's M. Night? A lot of hoopla over his first movie (both Get Out and the 6th Sense being nothing more than feature-length Twilight Zone episodes) and nothing particularly good after that.

shareNope. All 3 of Peele's films are good and got great reviews.

shareThanks for pointing that out!
shareNo, I think he's this century's black on white racist.
shareyou're such a snowflake lol
shareUm, does mommy know you're using her laptop?

good one, thanks for taking me back to 1998 when that was a clever insult. maybe ask your mom for some better comebacks bro
shareLOL, at least I have a mom AND know who my daddy is!
shareno wonder black people offend you, your iq is clearly pretty low. these jokes are trash. get better humor and/or stop being a big baby when black people try to have opinions.
shareYou are an offense to mankind though. Nice one.
shareAlso, try and do the same when whites have opinions that you don't like. Just a suggestion.
sharelol! everyone can be called out fairly. as much as it upsets and triggers your fragile snowflake self, white people are not immune to criticism.
shareI think you may want to look in the mirror to see a walking 'snowflake' LOL. Now be a good girl, boy (or both) and go paint some rainbows.
shareyou're the one getting offended by jordan peele. sounds like you need to be in a quiet place to relax from mean wittle jordan peele's opinions
shareI think he has talent, but he has directed too few movies to be placed on any pedestal. He made one good, one ok and now his latest came in below expectation and surprisingly low cinemascore (B isn't ideal for good theatrical runs).
shareI am not a racist but I do think the fact he is black contributes to him being praised more than he deserves. Get out is good, Us is bad and Nope is average
shareThis …
shareGOOD,GOOD,GOOD...THREE GOODS IN MY OPINION...IF THE PRAISE IS INDEED DUE TO SKIN COLOR...IT WILL DIE DOWN...I THINK IT IS MOSTLY DUE TO A MAN I KNEW FOR SKETCH COMEDY TURNING INTO A GENUINELY TALENTED DIRECTOR WITH A RECOGNIZABLE STYLE AND A FLAIR FOR MAKING UNIQUE FILMS THAT SPARK DEBATE.
sharehis skin color has little to nothing to do with it. people who are blind to great directing and screenwriting have a hard time understanding why Get Out was so well recieved. if skin color was the reason, then tyler perry would also have a few oscars by now. the hype comes from the fact that Get Out was so good, people are hoping his next films will be just as good. quite simply, really. if you really enjoyed a director's film, you'll be excited to see what he does next.
shareI am not a racist...That's always the sign of a racist getting ready to spew racist beliefs.
but I do think the fact he is black contributes to him being praised more than he deserves.Only racists believe blacks live an advantaged existence. share
Nah Night never tried hosting a (mostly terrible) revival of a classic tv show. He's no Rod Serling. he's a great sketch comedy performer but not a good host (at least of that show). Also Jordan doesn't isn't on casting himself in his movies. It's a shame too, because I could see him doing a few funny cameos in his movies. And finally Night has to have a twist in all of his movies even if there's no good reason for one. As for the Night: The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Split are all very good to great movies. Glass is okay but disappointing. The Village had potential but his love of the twist ruined it. The rest are meh to awful. So far all of Jordan's movies have been good, not as good as the hype, but still quite good. So until he makes like 3 or 4 "The Happening" style films, I don't think we can compare them fairly.
shareThe Sixth Sense vs Get Out - Two very different movies. I think Sixth Sense might have better directing and is the better film on an artistic level, but Get Out definitely has the tighter screenplay and unrelenting suspense. Not sure, I love them both.
Unbreakable vs Us - Shayamalan is the clear winner here. Unbreakable is an excellent film, whereas Us is an underwritten mess. Us's visual direction and cinematography are 10/10, but the script feels very first-drafty. Unbreakable is easily Shayamalan's 2nd best film.
Signs vs Nope - Two UFO movies? Nope is much better. I do like Signs, but Signs is also very unintentionally goofy, and the alien logic makes no sense. Nope is a bit sloppy with its screenwriting, but the fun parts are way more fun than Signs, and the scary parts genuinely disturbed me. Both movies are well made and have a lot of ambition, but Peele's direction abilities have peaked with Nope.
The score of Shayamalan vs Peele so far is 1-1-1. I guess the ball is in anyone's court, but I'd be incredibly disappointed if Peele stooped to The Last Airbender or The Happening levels.
