I agree completely with OP. The only people who are defending the movie about this matter are atheists themselves who were happy to see their views and beliefs being validated in a movie.
Also going so far as trying to make agnostics believe that they're atheists too? (Talking about the users above). So pathetic.
I bet these are the same people who would be complaining about the amount of religious element in movies like The Conjuring (which like this one, almost ruined it for me too).
The mini debate in the RV definitely sounded like every other Christians/Atheists fight you see on YouTube comment section. Those stuff they said in the RV were definitely the writer's personal commentary on the subject that weren't meant to be a "joke".
Seriously, both sides, tone it down a little, will you guys?
