As far as I have seen, there has been no indication at all that this film will feature Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire. Like, literally zero proof. Where are people getting this stuff from?
Doc Ock and Electro from the previous movies are in it and it’s been confirmed to incorporate the Multiverse. Other than that, it’s rumors and leaks which might not be true.
Andrew Garfield's stunt double from The Amazing Spider-Man 1&2 tweeted a picture of himself next to Tom Holland's stunt double on the set of No Way Home, that is probably the strongest indication we've got that Andrew is in the film.
Apart from that it is all speculation. I guess we'll find out in 4 months time unless they delay the film, it's a bit weird we haven't had a trailer yet.
From what I've seen (e.g. Into the Spider-verse) the other Peter Parkers are still supposed to be the same Peter Parker physically, just different based upon their experiences within their universes.
Shouldn't we just have Tom Holland playing multiple versions of Peter Parker? Why would he possibly look like Tobey Maguire in another universe? 🤔🍝
Into The Spiderverse had a cartoon pig, a Japanese girl, Gwen Stacey, and a man from the 1930's as the various Spider-people. Meanwhile, we only had two Peter Parkers (one of whom died at the start of the movie) and Miles Morales. Why would you think they were all the same person? Tobey, Andrew, and Tom being three white dudes named Peter Parker is closer to what you're asking about.
I appreciate that there are other Spider "characters" in that film but I did specifically raise the question re Peter Parker.
In Into the Spider-verse we see the guy from the other universe - a touch on the portly side due to his experiences in that universe but he is appearance wise exactly the same guy.
How could this film possibly explain Tobey Maguire, Garfield and Holland all being the same person? It wouldn't make any sense unless - as per your Spider Pig - they are actually completely separate characters who just coincidentally share the name Peter Parker and all became Spider-Man.
They are all variants of the same guy just like Spider-Ham is a variant of Peter Parker despite being a cartoon pig. In Loki, we see some Loki variants are female, or black, or even alligators.
He's a variant Spider-Man manifestation but he is Peter Porker / a pig 🐷 not Peter Parker.
In a multiverse Maguire, Garfield & Holland would all be playing a Peter Parker with the same DNA - unless, as per previous post, they were different people just coincidentally called Peter Parker.
The multiple Peter Parker Spider-Man concept is fine but really they should all be played by Holland.
Even when it came to the Peter Parkers we saw in “Spiderverse”, one was a teenager, one was middle age, one was a young blonde guy, and another was from the 1930’s in a world that was black and white. They not only had different ages and looked differently, at least three of them had different voices.
I get what you are saying but as mentioned in Loki we see a female Loki - the point being people using the same name don't necessary look or act the same. They are basically their universes version of peter parker, with some similarities but also differences.
It was never really up for debate .. There's no way in hell they'd bring back the villains from all the previous films then leave out Toby (and Garfield). Can you imagine how disappointing it'd be if get to the end of the film and no Toby.. sorry everyone the negotiations fell apart and we couldnt reach a deal with him lol. (which is why there were rumours he was holding out for crazy money 30 or 40m or whatever ..probably what he would have got if there'd been a Spideman 4. Maybe thats why Disney are trying to stiff scarjo out her BW points .. they've blown all their cash on Toby😄)
