If you watched it without re-watching the trilogy then you'll probably hate it.
If you re-watch the trilogy and then watch this, then you'll probably think that was too much to take all at once.
"What is this? This is not the Matrix I loved".
But let it take a while. Rewatch it. Eventually you'll realize it's the best Matrix movie since the original.

shareI dunno. I loved Reloaded and Revolutions, and I assumed I'd love this one too. I didn't get to see it until yesterday (4K blu ray release) and since it premiered last Dec I've also assumed virtually all of the naysaying is coming from the same typical smooth-brain idiots who hated the sequels and wouldn't know a good movie if it kicked them in their little withered raisin incel balls.
I only had time to watch the first 90 minutes last night, I'll watch the last chunk tonight. So far, I do think it has some interesting ideas and some great scenes. But unfortunately a lot of it has bored me, or made me cringe. If it grows on me later, cool. None of the previous Matrix movies needed to grow on me, I liked them right out of the gate.
