What's the appeal of this movie?

Other than seeing the crazy action of the franchise with today's special effects, I don't understand why people are so excited for this. Every subsequent movie since the original has only offered diminishing returns. Since that seems to be the general consensus on the franchise, I don't see why fans of the original are so hyped for this.

Agreed the 2nd and 3rd were worthless.

Like every Star Wars after empire.

pure nostalgia. some fools are probably hoping this will retroactively save the sequels but that ain't happening.

The Matrix has great mythology. The boards on IMDB for that franchise were extremely active. Movies like them are why message boards exist.
