Congrats, you're 32 years old and are playing a character half your age.

Anyone else find it weird that Eric Christian Olsen is playing a high school student (presumably 16-17 years old) even though he's 32? He doesn't even look like a teenager...

When the movie started, my brother said, "Surely he's not still playing high school characters." I suggested that maybe they were supposed to be in college until it was revealed that they were in high school. Then we were like, okay whatever, we'll roll with it. I don't think he looks ridiculously old, but then again, I'm a 28 year old guy who was asked by a high school guidance counselor if I was in high school just 2 months ago. I think it's weird that older people play high school characters, but I don't usually spend much time thinking about it once the character's age is established.

Congrats, you're 32 years old and are playing a character half your age, and making everyone laugh while you're doing it.

Do you really watch this kind of movie to see what high schoolers really look like? Personally I watched it for a good laugh and to see some hot chicks, and this movie accomplished both things nicely. I don't give a rat's ass how old Olsen is, he was funny.

i'd still do him.

They don't look their age! I would say early 20's at most. If they can get away with it, why wouldn't film makers do it?

Heaven's glad you came MJ 1958-2009.

First, he was 31 at the oldest when the movie was filmed. He didn't turn 32 until after it came out.

Second, is 31 really that much worse than Alan Ruck playing a guy the same age at 29?

Its really lame he is so old. Just like those dudes in the vampire diaries. guys in their 30's playing teens. WTF?!

I just finished watching the movie on Starz. I think Eric Christian Olsen is a little too old to be playing a teen. He does look younger than his age but not high school age. Also the other actors and actresses in the previous teen movies he did stopped playing teens years ago. The Hot Chick was the last teen movie Anna Faris did. Chyler Leigh never played another teen character after Not Another Teen Movie and I think Chris Evans' last teen role was in The Perfect Score.

The reasons people in their 20's sometimes play teenagers on movies and tv shows are for financial reasons because movie studios, and tv networks want to have productions times controlled and they don't want to have to deal with parents or tutors. Child labor laws prohibit the hours a minor can work and that can slow down production on movies and tv shows. Delayed production will end up costing a studio or network more money because something that could be shot in one day might take three days because of minor actors. If all teen roles are cast with people in their 20's production can take place into the late night and early morning hours.

He looks really good for 32, IMO. While he didn't really look like a high school student in the movie, neither did Annalynne McCord--and she was closer to highschool age.

It was a silly, fun movie. Who cares? It's not like they cast Maggie Smith as a high schooler! lol

Didn't seem to stop 90210!! Geez, and Dylan/Luke Perry looked like his was 40 and still playing a high schooler. Movies are for escaping, get over it and enjoy the ride.

I could kinda buy the dark haired guy as an 18 year old, just because there's a guy at my school who's practically his twin.

Danielle Harris played a 17-year old babysitter in the Rob Zombie Halloween (2007) remake, when at the time of film, she was 30 years old.

Yeah it is a little absurd, but I don't think he was going to high school per se, but then again it is a comedy, and in such circmstances we are to suspend belief for the comedic aspect :(Source: http://moviereviews.noskram.com/2009/09/movie-reviews-for-fired-up

Yes, that was my first thought when the movie started - those guys are supposed to be in high school? They have to be in their 30s. Came here to check, yep, they are in their 30s. Is there a shortage of teenage actors these days?
