Congrats, you're 32 years old and are playing a character half your age.

Anyone else find it weird that Eric Christian Olsen is playing a high school student (presumably 16-17 years old) even though he's 32? He doesn't even look like a teenager...

I know Hollywood pushes it sometimes but THIS is ridiculous.

oh my God just wait the movie comes out and then you can criticize it ¬¬ you haven't even seen it yet!

reply

were not criticising the movie just the fact that 31 yr old is playin a teensometimes my lyrics are sexist but you lovely bitches and hoes should know Im tryin to correct this

Your response is wrong. He or she is completely justified in commenting on their ages. I've seen the commercial for this movie over and over and that one guy is on BROTHERS & SISTERS playing a guy much older than 17.

You do NOT have to see this movie (and really, why would you) to ask this question or to criticize this casting.

i bet he was happy with his pay check.....though i wonder if he even questioned his age when doing this film

don't point that beard at me, it might go off... Groucho marx

Two things:

1. "21 Jumstreet"

2. He's an actor. You'd be suprised that all the "teens" in Ferris Bueller's day off was in their 20's as well.

While it would be nice to see teens playing teens, that's what acting is about. Some casting can pull it off...and some are just plain ridiculous.

But ah... Try to enjoy!

20s and 32 are not the same thing. A 21 year old playing an 18 year old is not so bad.

his character is really funny, and you really cant tell that he is much older than a high schooler should be. Its a good movie, SEE IT

Ugh! I really can't stand this guy, he's a horrible actor who is always in horrible movies. I mean, does this guy even try to be good?

reply

Yes, you can tell that he is that much older. You can. No one I went to high school with looked like him

reply

Yes he does, they aired the trailer during an episode of Degrassi:TNG, I don't know what you're smoking, or if you need glasses, but the guy looks 30.

He didn't look anything like the kids on that show and they're all the ages their suppose to be playing give or take a year or two.

reply

Oh gosh! Could you guys find something worth bitching about to bitch about plz?

reply

It's TOTALLY worth bitching about
It's ridiculuous

reply

They should also figure out how to market a movie geared toward kids in high school, I'm watching DeGrassi:TNG with my sister and her family and they air the trailer for this movie, the kids on DeGrassi:TNG, are at least playing their age group, these guys look old enough to have kids in school themselves.

If I'm not mistaken Mr. Olsen was on a television show with Anne Hathaway several years ago playing her older brother, a high school student, and then turned up on 24 a few years later playing a college student. Even Anne isn't playing a high school student anymore and she's younger than Mr. Olsen.

Gee, no wonder American's had a hard time believing those Chinese gymnast were real teenagers.

5 o'clock shadow? There weren't any 20 year old actors they could hire.

They should have had the story take place in college, besides Molly Sims is in this movie playing an instructor, and she's only 4 years older than Eric.

I was counting on someone to address that on this board.

the blond guy looks like a college guy (this movie could have JUST as easily been set in a college age range instead of high school.

the dark haired guy looked pretty young, but i get the impression the direction to him was "WIDE EYED innocence...WIDER....WIDER! GOOD! ACTION!!!"

The idea was to make fun of how Hollywood movies use actors who are way too old to be in teen movies, so they purposefully crossed the line. Degrassi is one of the few mainstream teen shows/movies that actually uses kids who are the same age as their characters, and the movie was addressing that as a parody.

...Just saying. Lmao, that chick was awesome.
