It did not get good reviews, which isn't surprising. Hell, it doesn't have good reviews/ratings from the fans on RT either. Despite that, there are people ALL OVER saying this is funny. I've seen it all over the web. Even had a few people in person mention it.
I gave it a shot last night because people are saying it's funny. It's not. It's stupid. REALLY. STUPID. I made it maybe 35 minutes. Didn't laugh once. It was REALLY BAD.
Watched the first half of it with my girl the other night. Neither of us laughed once, and I was like "Think it might get better?".. she said no, and we turned it off.
Some cool cameos, I guess.
I gave it more than a few minutes, but at most made it 35 minutes. Same for me, didn't laugh once. Not a single time.
Well that's the type of film it is. He is just playing the same character from some of his other comedies.
Funny ...15 years ago this movie would have been released in the theater. Today most films like this go straight to streaming.
It's not funny. Caddyshack is stupid. Happy Gilmore is stupid. Anchorman and Billy Madison are stupid. But they are funny. Hell, some of his 2nd tier movies are funny, but stupid: Chuck and Larry, Little Nicky, etc. This is just a baaaaaddd movie.

But I read an article recently saying this is a good film, which is just not true. I think admitting you like it despite it being a bad film is more honest, rather than stating it's actually good - because it isn't.

People do this all the time. It's not hard to you like something that's bad, but ego I guess.
