I thought they were both terrible films. Perhaps they worked strictly as children's entertainment, but the best superhero films are those that appeal to both young and old.
shareIt depends, are you child at heart. They weren't the best films. But for the most part they totally captured the spirit of the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby comics. I have no faith that Modern MCU will even accomplish that. On top of that the Cast of the 05 movies was 90% spot on. Nobody going to top Michael Chiklis as The Thing. He put everything into that role.
shareIf anyone can embody a Yancy Street tough guy, it's Ebon Moss-Bachrach. He's got that demeanor down pat, but has also shown an ability to reveal a softer side without resorting to schmaltz.

shareI thought the 2005 film and its sequel were pretty dumb but still kind of fun. The cast was pretty spot on for the most part, especially Michael Chiklis as The Thing and Chris Evans as Human Torch. They nailed it.
And I’d rather watch both of those silly cheesefests than the dreadfully boring and depressing 2015 version any day.
I think the casting in those movies was mostly on target except for Dr. Doom. He was terrible.
shareThe F4 were fine. Doom was a travesty. Just a rip off of Norman Osborn from Spider-Man 1.
