Transformers 2 was 'crap,' says director Michael Bay

"The real fault with (Transformers 2) is that it ran into a mystical world," he explains. "When I look back at it, that was crap. The writers' strike was coming hard and fast. It was just terrible to do a movie where you've got to have a story in three weeks."

He adds, "I was prepping a movie for months where I only had 14 pages of some idea of what the movie was. It's a BS way to make a movie, do you know what I'm saying?"

This isn't the first time Bay has blamed the writers' strike for the blockbuster's faults. In July 2010, he told USA Today, "I'll take some of the criticism. It was very hard to put (the sequel) together that quickly after the writers' strike."

Actor Shia LaBeouf had similar complaints earlier that year at the Cannes Film Festival. "When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did," he said. "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone."

Michael Bay is probably the biggest director of all time.

Shia and Bay are absolutely right and I'm glad they didn't sell themselves out and pretend to support the movie.

Shia told a story about a man who told him "the worst thing to do is have a billion dollars for a movie and no story" he went on to say that was exactly what happened with ROTF.

Fortunately, Bay decided to get the Third movie out there as soon and as awesomely as possible, and boy was it amazing, we need not worry about ROTF anymore, unless ofcourse some fool says it is good.

Heck, even my five year old little cousin who loves explosions and crazy stuff said he didn't like it and preferred the other two.

If a different director did the transformers film it would of been alot better overall. As for Michael Bay's version. 1 to 3 most entertaining.

1 Dark fo the Moon
2 Revenge of The Fallen
3 Transformers

WTH is the difference between any of the TF movies? They were all loud, loaded with CGI and had very little character development. I thought the 3rd movie was actually the worst of the 3 with the plot twists and bringing in the new Girlfriend at the last minute to replace Fox. So Bay and Shia can say 2 was the worst almost as if they think the other 2 were great, but not so much IMO..

And how many good movies has Bay actually made? He has made some very successful and marketable movies in terms of Box Office but most of them came out, made money and were quickly forgotten.

Pearl Harbor
Armageddon
Bad Boys 2

I think the TF movies fall into that category for Bay of successful yet forgettable movies.
