That $70 million budget listed on here is a typo right?
This looks like a made for television or direct to DVD film. No way the budget could be that high for a movie without a single respectable name and below average special effects at best.

I saw it today. It has extensive CGI in it, as much or more as 300 had. Some sequences are nothing but CGI with some people added in. Very few practical effects at all. The entire gladiator coliseum sequence was CGI aside from the principle actors, including the crowd and sky above it.
It would not surprise me if it was higher than 70 million.

"Fine. You want to eat? Let's see if you can eat... PIZZA!!!"
Actually I can't believe it's that cheap. It looks more expensive then Superman Returns did, for 206 Million dollars.
"When the chips are down... these Civilized people... will Eat each Other"
I bet 60 mil sent to advertisement

Scott Adkins is the only person in the whole cast that I had ever heard of.. He has made some really good action flicks.
shareAgreed. As a VFX artist, I could have done all the vfx in the film over 18 months on my own... and I only woulda charged them a few million for my troubles. In fact, if I had sent them a bill for $10 million, I would have felt really bad charging them that amount.
Realistically, the producers are walking away with a small fortune thanks to some creative accounting. Especially considering this film was shot in Bulgaria.
$70,000,000 USD is almost $100,000,000 Bulgarian Leva (dollars). That's a ridiculous sum of money to drop on this package of above-the-line talent and script.
I'm getting angry just thinking about it.
The director clearly pocketed at least half of that. Should be investigated, really.
shareSomeone made off with a lot of money and cooked the books. Who made this film, the mayor of Detroit?
