I can't figure out why would he make a hercules movie that would appeal more to women than men. Why would he be more focus on males flashing skin than females?

That is odd for a male director!

And the cheesy twilight love story, seems to be all about appealing to women or effeminate men.

If I had a low budget to work with, I'd want to cast a male lead who would be more likely to bring in female audiences as well.
