For me it looks OK film and I have seen lot of movies. It has a 70 mil. budget and usually half of the budget goes for marketing the film so here we come to 35 mil. insted of 70 mil. And for me it looks pretty neat for that budget.

People are trying to undermine this movie because it doesn't have any big names acting in it. If it was maybe Brad Pitt or some other big name playing as Hercules people would be praising it without even having watched it.
They want to feel like they are above all else when in fact they are just seeming like snobs to others. In all fairness, the trailer wasn't the best however the movie may end up being better.

Fair or not, he'll never be taken seriously by a male audience, which is who this movie is aimed it. It's like when they tried to make that action movie with Taylor Lautner. People just don't buy it.

People have become incredible snobs when it has come to movies. They don't realize that budget has NOTHING to do with quality. There have been countless films that cost 100 million dollars that have been absolute disasters. It seems like people can't enjoy a fun, cheesy movie anymore; they have to pick it apart and analyze it. Everyone thinks they are professional critics these days. Everyone thinks they know about film making and art and most of them are just talking out their ass. I'm also looking forward to this movie. i like all the Italian movies about Hercules from the 50's onward. I'm interested to see how this one will play out. I just hope they keep it serious, and don't make it a comedy like the latest Thor movie. I think the comedy ruined that film..

I'm not a snob and it looks pretty bad. I often have extremely low standards. people are saying it's bad in very simple terms, they don't seem to be overanalyzing anything.
shareWell it's funny, because i AM a film snob; and i loved this movie. Your comment, "it looks pretty bad" says it all; LOOKS means you haven't seen it. so why judge something you haven't seen? If i made decisions based on other people's opinions, I would have missed an awesome fantasy movie. so I'm glad i make my own decisions.

I make my own too, but I can't afford to for every single movie that comes out. You've never seen a movie that lived up to what other people have said? The rest of us have.
shareI've seen movies that people say are terrible, and they turn out to be good..sometimes great in fact. for instance "In the Land of Blood and Honey" directed by Angelina Jolie; people trashed that film, then i found out later it was all for political reasons...people didn't like the fact that the film "took sides" and had an opinion. but the movie was excellent. I'm not saying that "Legend of Hercules" is some great movie masterpiece, but people who specifically enjoy old school-style 'sword & sandal' epics like this are missing out on a fun movie experience, just because they let themselves be influenced by a bunch of people who haven't seen the film. Or who hate it for silly reasons, like because the main actor was in a series that they hated. This is a good fantasy movie, and as I read comments i am seeing more people that feel the same way about it. It just seems like this movie was purposely trashed for some reason that had little to do with the actual product..

those aren't the reasons I wasn't going to see it though. I'm only talking about the trailer which is put together by the creators & reviews from people who i'm 99.9% sure actually have seen it. I'm actually going to watch it now though since you feel so strong about it, it's just an hour or two of my time. I don't disagree with everything you've said about other movies either. More often than not though not when I do end up watching a movie I have a feeling I'm not going to like for any number of reasons, I don't.
