Most Preposterous Ending (Spoilers)

Despite a wide array of problems that are already present in the movie, the ending is one of the biggest. So Jackson, who was the former well respected and known chief of police is hanging in the air by chains in the air and has his arm forced into the air with a gun attached to it and pointing it at the SWAT teach right as they bust down the door.
1) Do they not see it is Jackson?
2) Do they fail to see that he is hanging by chains in the air?
3) Do they actually believe that a former, well decorated chief of police would point a gun at them when he is clearly hanging from chains in a tortuous manner?

There was that scene where that other detective was talking to Zeke and accused his father of being involved. It feels like they cut out a scene that would have had him communicating to swat that the Jackson was a suspect.

I agree it's a dumb scene and there isn't a good explanation for a bunch of cops basically executing the damned Chief of Police on a whim.

I believe he was retired and it all went quick. They just saw a gun and started shooting.

Did eveyone just miss the huge bright lights turn on behind him that would have blinded the SWAT?

You couldn't see who it was. It was just a figure raising their arm up.

Who was hung in the air. And if the lights blinded them, how could they see anything?

What? He wasn't raised into the air, he was raised onto his feet.

Spotlights turned on behind Sam Jackson so if you were stood in front of the lights you wouldnt have been able to see who it was.

You hear Swat repeatedly shout gun, gun and then his arm is raised pointing the gun at them.

Did you actually even watch it.

Even playing devils advocate and saying they knew it was Sam Jackson. He still in their eyes raised a gun on them and so would have been fired upon.

I was almost positive he was raised in the air.

Have you ever had spotlights shined in front of your eyes? You definitely would not be able to discern a body in front of you, much less a gun raised.

There is no need to get rude. I was not rude to you.

Again, if they knew it was Jackson, they would know that he would not raise a gun on them.

You have basically answered your own question.

They already knew he had a gun. Go and watch it and you will here "gun, gun" a split second before the lights came on. Then disorientated by the lights they see that same figure (now silhouetted) raise the gun and so they shoot.

Really isn't that complicated. It is a saw movie, try not to over think it.

Their is a lot wrong with this movie but that scene is not one of them.

People cannot hear tone online, so it makes you come off as more snarky than rude.

When you are asking me if I actually watched the movie. Well I am discussing the ending of a film I saw in the theatre. Maybe I remembered it wrong, if so then sorry, I am not bashing anyone that liked the movie I just thought that the movie was loaded with problems and the ending became ridiculous, as well as an abrupt ending, because I do not think Rock had any idea how to conclude the movie.

He was not floating, but it was clear that he wasnt standing on his own will. Also the swat could see a lot more than a shadow. heres a still photo: https://i.imgur.com/OWEavWl.png

Yeah, I misremembered the flying in the air part, but sill it was unbelievable to me.

I would agree the reaction was unbelievable, but then again there was that incident where SWAT killed a guy in his home because someone prank-called and claimed he had a gun. Lead to law changes making SWAT'ing much more punishable.

Do NOT try to bring logic into this series. It's all about "Movie Logic," which is the internal "logic" constructed by the screenwriters. But, any time the Movie Logic goes too far, it breaks the movie. Audiences have to decide for themselves where that point is.
