You go woke you go broke πŸ˜‚ huge Flop

No doubt this is a disastrous result for a 200 million-budgeted Pixar film. I'd imagine Universal is sitting back with huge smiles on their face...it's been gradual over the last few years but they are now clearly the most successful animation company going right now with their twin studios Illumination and DreamWorks.

Disney is in a death spiral.

reply

Yeah the mouse got too big for the house

reply

What does the next decade look like for universal?

reply

In animation, they are on a much better(and cost efficient) trajectory than Disney.

But what about Top Gun and Jurassic World? Are they woke as well? From my understanding, competition was a major factor into why this failed at the box office, amongst others.

reply

No they aren't.

reply

People don't agree on what's considered woke.

reply

Most people don't pay to see movies because they need or want teachable moments. They want to be entertained, not indoctrinated.

reply

True.

reply

Go "alert to injustice in society" go broke? I don't think woke means what you think it means

More like "alert to manufactured injustice in society"

reply

Even if that was the actual definition, it still doesn't fit within the context that most conservatives use it in.

reply

Sure it is. It's used sarcastically.

I don't agree with the agenda this movie was trying to push but are anti-"wokers" seriously still trying to get mileage out of the stupid "go woke go broke" catchphrase"? There's just way too many examples that contradict this notion. I get second hand embarrassment every time I see someone spouting this idiotic catchphrase

reply

yeah i was gonna take my little brother to see this film but after hearing it was libturded and gay i didnt want to expose him to this trash

reply

Not only that, but also because after 27 years, right leaning Tim Allen was kicked to the curb in favor of left leaning megastar Chris Evans. Plus the media controversy of how the kiss scene was made, and then omitted, and then put back in again. Disney is bipolar, to say the least.
