Can anyone recommend other great dog movies?

One man and his Dog is also a very nice touching movie about an old lonely man and his dog. Its a bit slow but worth seeing. Its not just about a dog but about life.

Also, Eight below. There is a US version and a Japanese version.

do you know any???

I HIGHLY recommend A Dog of Flanders. I haven't seen the live action version because the anime version is just so freaking wonderful. And a real tear-jerker as well. I watched it again after watching Hachi. Not sure if that was a good choice or not...

Hi,
Thanks for your recommendation. I just saw it few days ago. What a sad movie, shockingly sad. But very beautiful.
I also saw the live action movie but it was not as good as the anime version.

Red Dog is a must-see! It's also a true story, and similar in its basic premise - lifelong devotion to one true owner - but set in outback Australia. I have never been so affected by any other movie about a dog.

A boy and his Dog

Can't believe nobody mentioned "White Fang" with Ethan Hawke. The scene where he gets White Fang to eat out of his hand for the first time is ridiculously emotional.

Umberto D. (1952). Vittorio De Sica. A Classic.

"Cujo" "Devil Dog Hound of hell" ......well for Halloween these are good choices. "Old Yeller" is a good classic.

I second Umberto D.
