I think it is terrible and have given it three viewings. It gets worse. What am I missing? It's not just how sloooooow it is. It's not clever, fun or interesting and I wanted all the people to die. I liked Reservoir, Pulp, Kill Bills and Inglorious...did not like Jackie Brown. But this....this is TERRIBLE. Am I alone here?

Gave it a second viewing tonight and this is my conclusion:
-too daaarn sloooooow
-too much *beep* dialogue about nothing
-too little Kurt Russel
On the upper sides:
-Nice girls
-The "girl of color" was pretty funny
-Kurt Russel
-great carschase
the movie is basically girl talk,girl talk,death, girl talk,girl talk, death very lame unfortunately and I think that everyone who thinks it's super great or anything just want it to be cuz of tarantino!
Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike, the savage car crash and climactic car chase, the music, the cars, some great dialoge, and good performances.
The dialogue scene in the diner is tedious i must admit, as are a couple of scenes in the bar, but overall this is still a great and unusual movie.
This is how to enjoy this movie. You know those chores you have been putting off doing around the house. Well, fire up your DVD put in Death Proof and go knock out those projects.
I rebuilt the engine in my 69 Shelby GT500, repainted my home, built a deck in my backyard, transferred all my VHS tapes to DVD, and took down my Christmas lights. To return just in time for the best part of the movie, the last 10 minutes!

Just watched it, i'd give it a 6.5. It was definitely different Ill give it that.
It wasn't much of a thriller, more of a comedy than anything. It was immensely slow, way too much pointless chatter and too little action. I preferred the second half because the girls were likable and fun, shame they turned the main villain until a snivelling b!tch though.
The car duel chase sequence has stayed on my mind since I first saw this film as Grindhouse with Planet Terror. While Planet Terror was a dumb-fun film and I thought it was an ok film then when this film opens, for some reason I got my attention onto this film more than Planet Terror which was probably because I liked the camera work.
Because of the chase towards the end of film, I liked Death Proof more than Planet Terror despite its car chase which has a 1970s vibe in style. I'm not saying it's a great Tarantino film but it's good for what it is.
The only thing that made sense in your post is that Marion Cotilliard and Keira Knightley are beautiful. And since that's technically your sig and not a part of your post that means your whole post is tripe.
