So this is just like back in the day (pre 2020 streaming wars) when networks ordered a pilot, shot a pilot, aired a pilot, and then yanked it after 3-4 episodes because it wasnโt working. The first season of a show on streaming is just like a network pilot. Will it work? Will the audience show up? If not, then it doesnโt get a second season and at some point it costs more to keep it on the air, having to pay residuals and license fees, then to cancel it.
