It’s epic, based on fact, has conflicted characters, and the end doesn’t disappoint.

Definitely one of Peter Weir's more underrated films, I wrote a thread why I think it's underrated. It has one of Colin Farrell's great performances, the photography is excellent and that it was based on a true story makes it even more gripping. Definitely worth getting on blu ray if you can.
shareI think the rating is about right. I agree on Farrell's performance. The movie seemed to lose some of its pizzazz after his character left. Yes, much of the cinematography is stunning and actually carried the movie for me half-way through when it appeared to bog down. It's basically good cinematic entertainment.
