Have you ever been the Tom?

I'll buck the trend here and say no I've only been the summer.

Dated girls who agreed on the friends with benefits or casual relationship up front, later changed their mind and then made it seem like I'm the *beep* for not also changing my mind. To this point I cannot empathise with Tom.

However I wouldn't just invite those people to my party where I am showing off an engagement ring to some other woman. That would be a major jackass move and it's at this point that summer becomes an *beep* She also should have known not to get too close at the wedding, as she has been down that road before, she knew where toms head would be at.

How I wish it was easy to find girls who DON'T want a relationship. I don't know where you guys are finding all your summers. All I'm getting is a bunch of toms :(

Yes, I was the Tom. But I was 19, so that makes a huge difference. And it was more infatuation than actual love. She was my first "serious relationship". We had a lot in common. We enjoyed each other's company. I was completely falling for her, as much as you can when you're 19, anyway.

But in my case, she saw this. And she was decent enough, human enough, to end it quickly. She didn't reciprocate my infatuation/love. She liked me just fine, but she could see that I was falling fast. So she ended it within a few weeks. We had our fun, I have fond memories of her - even though I as a total f@cking dick and "cheated" on her with her cute best friend a few weeks after we broke up - but she absolutely did the right thing.

Unlike Summer, who just continued to lead Tom for months on while enjoying herself, with an utter disregard for his obvious feelings towards her.
