Just wondering - I never have; I was in Minneapolis a short time ago and wanted to check out The Nook, but never made it downtown. I'd love to sample a few of these joints.
Love watching the show...
"Lane, I've been at this high school for seven and a half years...I'm no dummy."
We have eaten at a couple of places in the last few months -
In Denver, Sam's 3 was excellent - kind of a diner feel with a wide variety of Mexican and American flavors and big portions.
We ate at the Coffee Cup in Boulder City, Nevada (near Hoover Dam) and it was okay - definitely a diner that specializes in breakfast (their cook was the dude who cracked all those eggs). We ate lunch - the service and prices were good.

Friends and familly have been to Pagoda in North Pole, AK and said it's very good.
My husband has been to California Taco in Omaha, NE several times, but he's not a fan (he always went with friends). It gave him an upset stomach/intestinal distress almost every time he went.
My brother says he had the best meal he's ever had at Dixie Quicks in Omaha, NE (a chicken quesadilla), and he's somewhat of a foodie. He also said the service was very good - friendly, personable, and quick.
I've been to both The Cove and Magnolia Pancake Haus in San Antonio, TX. The Cove was already one of my favorite burger joints (before the show aired). It looks iffy from the outside (it also houses a carwash and laundromat), but the food is fresh and delicious (no premixed salad out of a bag). My favorite is the Texas Burger, which comes with refried beans, salsa (nice and smokey), avocado, and corn chips. They also have a nice outdoor seating area with a playground for kids (and live music inside by the bar).
I've only been to Magnolia twice, and gotten the apfel pfannekuchen both times. I don't like traditional pancakes, but these are wonderful. The outter edge is chewy, the inside soft but not soggy. It comes with lots of apples, cinnamon, and a dollop of whipped cream. I suppose if I really wanted to make a pig of myself, I may be able to finish it (and I can eat a lot), but I'd probably be very uncomfortable for a while. Instead, I share it with someone (which makes the meal even more economical since I think it costs about $9.75). My husband and others have also said the corned beef hash (comes with 2 eggs and pancakes) is really good.
Yes, Moochie's in Salt Lake City. It was disgusting. Seriously the worst cheese steak I have ever had. The meat was super dry, had zero flavor and the cheese they used was american kraft, the kind that taste like plastic. Even my husband hated it and he'll pretty much eat anything. There is always a line out the door, not sure why because the food was not good at all.
I used to live in Manchester, NH and went to the Red Arrow Diner, which was featured in season 1. They have really good chicken fingers and fries. Guy kept claiming they were well known for their homemade twinkies, but I didn't even know they made those haha.
The Melt Bar and Grilled in Lakewood Ohio. I don't know which episode he goes there in but I saw the clip of him going there online. He had the Parmageddon, a grilled cheese sandwich with a pirogi. I've never had that sandwich because I don't like pirogis very much, but everytime I go I get the Westside Monte Cristo. It's a grilled ham, turkey and cheese sandwich deep fried in batter and served with a berry dipping sauce. Best thing I've ever tasted.
I live in Santa Barbara and have eaten at three out of four of the places he's visited here in town: Norton's Pastrami, Mac's Fish & Chips, and Savoy Deli. The 4th is Lito's Mexican Food. I had already eaten at each several times when I heard they would be featured, though only one is in my regular rotation--Norton's--and mainly because they opened a second location closer to my work so i can go for lunch.
Luke this is your father come set the table for dinner.
I live in Chicago, but oddly enough the first time I ever tried a DD&D featured establishment was Cecelia's Cafe in Albuquerque. I had a fabulous soup there.
In Chicago, I have tried Hop Leaf, 90 Miles Cuban Cafe and Paradise Pup. All good.
