I thought it was great! Yes it's immature a lot of the time, but if you saw the movie title and was expecting to see an Oscar winning movie, well, you're an idiot!
That's not to say the performance were weak, I thought they were great given the subject matter.
Someone like Seth Rogen being with Elizabeth Banks seems to be a recurring complaint, but they had a perfect back story... Friends since the first grade, grew up as friends, rented an apartment together as friends... did I mention they were friends?
I agree with the notion that a straight guy can't be 'just friends' with a hot girl, but if their friendship goes back to when they were kids, well that's a different story... And a hot girl falling in-love with a chubby, average looking guy? Again, not the stereotype, but if you had grown up and been friends with this guy, then yes! They've known each other for 20 years!
Anyway, I watched it today for maybe the 3rd time, still loved it. However, I can't help but think Kevin Smith wrote this a long time before it was produced, as YouTube style porn sites killed off the porn industry years ago...
Also, a bit of a continuity error I spotted was at the end... If you walk into an apartment you lived in for years looking for someone you loved, why would you open the bathroom door? Fair enough, if it's first thing in the morning and the door has no lock then sure, you could walk in on someone by accident. But if you're looking for someone AND know where the bathroom is, why open the door without knocking? Their either not going to be there, or their going to be there taking a shower or a dump!
