Say what you want about the movie being good or bad, but you can't deny whenever Jared Leto appears on screen he just steals the show in this. Just the shit he does with eyes in every scene alone is amazing, he legit looks like slimeball creepy nutjob, from the way he looks, talks, moves his eyes around without blinking, just an insanely amazing performance.

I do absolutely admit Leto was Good.....But it was not Oscar Worthy....
The film was a giant creative failure and Leto's performance made it at least watchable....I give Leto a lot of credit for making the character as interesting as it was, But this isnt Oscar worthy....
OH.......I also really Liked the way Leto crafted his characters walk in this film....for me that was one of the best things about the character and Leto's performance.....
Bro i've seen alot of people get oscars who didn't do half as well as Leto did in this role, he at least deserves to be nominated. I think you're letting your hatred of the movie blind you to how good he was, as i said love or hate the movie his performance was amazing, and you even talked about how well he crafted the walk for his character which added so much to the role.
He did so many "little things" hehe, but he did so many little things like his walk, the way he looked with his eyes, the weird way he talked, you can't tell me he doesn't deserve an oscar.
I mean if you just said no, ok, but you typed it in all caps and repeated it twice with an exclamation point as if he was dogshit in the movie and the idea of him getting an oscar was over the top delusional, which i don't get, that was an amazing performance.

IMO this is a classic case of The Movie being so bad, that you are OVER estimating how good the ONLY GOOD thing about the movie is.
again Leto is Very Good.....IMO by far the best thing about the movie, I think Leto crafted the character amazingly ...I just read an article about him talking about it.
This is just my opinion, and I'm not saying this to be mean, But If Leto were to receive an Oscar Nom......It could ONLY be under these circumstances of A COVID year where there simply werent many movies that came out, Literally like 70% LESS movies that usually come out and The Majority of movies that came out were "straight to DVD/streaming" type movies...
Bottom Line IMO This performance while GOOD, couldnt hold up to Literally any regular year...if Leto were to be nominated it would have to be under Best Supporting actor....IMO Literally any other year, but this Covid year with 70% less movies, I dont any think anyone would mention Leto let alone actually nominate him...

shareAaron Taylor Johnson won a golden globe for playing a very similar role in Nocturnal Animals, where he was a sleazy bad guy making wise cracks at cops and being a weird scumbag, a Golden Globe aint exactly the same as an Oscar but its not very far below it. If he could get nominated for his role in that Leto easily can for his role in this.

shareI agree. He was very menacing when Deacon first confronted him at night with the flashlight near his car. But later in the movie he had some silly lines that bordered on parody. Like when Baxter convinced him to go to the bar so Deacon could sneak into the apartment and Sparno asks if it’s “that bar with the potato skins” as Baxter’s hanging up the phone. This just seemed ridiculous
