People can probably rest easy (if it's that serious for you lol), simply because there's no more rushing to a Justice League movie anymore. People forget that JL was waaaaay into production before Warner Bros. started rearranging things with Geoff Johns. Also there's now time for more character building solo films before we get another JL film. I think for the most part DCEU's problems are over with.
Right now is, more than ever, a time to worry about the future of DCEU.
Would you bet your house a Suicide Squad 2 will happen? Or the Martin Scorsese Joker film? Gotham City Sirens? Is Jared Leto even staying?
Aquaman 2/Cyborg 2? Will there be a Flash solo film? Wonder Woman 3? Is Ben Affleck sticking around? Is he in The Batman directed by Matt Reeves?
I can't give a definitive "yes" to any of these questions. This whole thing seems like one big murky mess, and I think WB/DC and Zack Snyder are to blame here. When you don't even know you're going to get a sequel, that says a lot.
Half of what you said is accurate, the other half isn't. We got a Aquaman 2, and another Suicide Squad, The Joker, and a Flash movie. You were right about everything else. It's still up in the air as Hamada gave up the idea of a connected universe.
Yes, my comment was from 4 years ago and things have definitely turned around. I still believe things were very bumpy and rough for DCEU in the beginning, but there are now some bright spots to look forward to like Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, etc.
It's my personal belief that Zach Snyder stepping away, and a management shift at the top of WB helped contribute to these changes for the better. I don't think it's gloriously perfect by any means, as I personally did not like Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984 (and I really wanted to like both movies), but I can definitely say I feel more optimistic now than I did four years ago.
Eeehhh, Walter Hamada is not a creative type tho. He was just brought in to keep production under control. All the people that was supposed to be a Kevin Feige type were let go. Snyder, Johns, and some other early 2010's top brass. WB get by off of individual film success. DC as a whole is still directionless, especially with all of these "Phantom announcements" that has a 50/50 chance of getting made.
Exactly, Hamada isn't necessarily a step up. He's just a company man, with mute appeal towards the DCEU. If anything I'd argue the guy over him is the real problem.
If DC get's another film with rave reviews they'll be fine...Another JL film is a long way off. There's nothing but solo films for the time being. And yes i can definitively say that those films are getting sequels because, money dear boy. Do you seriously believe their won't be a Transformers 6?! lol
