Was that not the cheesiest choice of music for the comeback montage, or what?

So crucify the ego before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative& blind& cynical
Mongo make no sense...
sharei thought so too.
I liked it.
Reed Rothchild: "Hey, are those lizard?"
Dirk: "No, they're Italian."
It didn't bother me. Also, Aerosmith are from Mass so there's that.

Agree. Very predictable, overused, uncreative choice of music.
shareI could be mistaken but I got the impression that the bands used on the soundtrack had been though their fair share of drug & alchahol abuse, Aerosmith being a prime example.
Why quote other people when I like the sound of my own voice?
Matches all the other terrible songs on the soundtrack. Actually, the songs themselves weren't necessarily terrible, but they didn't feel like they belonged in this movie, especially given the time period in which it was set. I don't get why they played this and Good Times, Bad Times instead of something more evocative of the '90s.

The movie was set in the 80s.
shareWas it really? I ask because the climactic fight with Shea Neary actually took place in 2000. In any case, Ward turned pro in 1985, by which time "Back in the Saddle" was about ten years old.

Yeah... I was in the middle of watching it when I posted that. The movie didn't really make it clear how much time was passing by until he faught someone new. The time between fights had been years. The fight scenes were terrible. ....and yes the music was terribly unfitting for the most part.
shareDo songs in movies have to be made in the same time period as the setting of the movie? This is news to me...
