Why all the hate for this film?

I have just watched it for the first time and i have to say that i found it amazing.Having read some of the threads on here the level of hate is truly shocking. This is one the cleverist films i have seen in ages.I feel i have to stick up for this film as from what i've read there are alot of stupid people out there who clearly did not understand the ending or even the premise of the film,i am not going into details as i could be here all night but i would like to say this is a excellently directed and acted film which is truly thought provoking and in my opinion should be highly praised instaed of widely criticised.Source code is a brilliant film and i would definitely recommend it to anyone one who likes clever sci-fi films that make you think and use your brain.

I agree, I just watched it and thought it was one of the better Sci Fi films I've seen in quite a while. Interesting questions of morality, philosophy, duty, and some quantum theory. Well-acted for the most part, as well, and very interesting to me. I'm not sure why people would hate on it, I just came to see if anyone had any interesting insights on it.

this is the first time I hear there is hate for this film.
I thought it was a very well-written and well-acted picture. Not as overtly "complicated" as many modern science-fiction seem to make their films.

"Source Code" was very interesting to watch and follow. It was like a puzzle. I liked it.

I can't imagine why anybody would hate this one.

I thought this film was a wasted opportunity. The concept was intriguing but the film wrapped up the mystery aspect far too soon, and focused too much on Michelle Monaghan's character and Jake G's obsession to save her. That part of the story was just silly and not even slightly interesting, which turned a good movie into an average one for me. It felt like the writer ran out of ideas after a strong setup so then just followed a bunch of action movie cliches to get to a running time of 90 minutes, which felt rather short given the complexity of the premise. Then there was the tacked on Hollywood ending too which could have been a lot better.

I disagree with this mainly because I started to catch on quickly as to Jake G's condition (i.e., he's dead). There was a line early on where Jake says "I'm in the capsule," and Dr. Rutledge "so that's what you see (or call it?)." It was a mystery that couldn't have gone on for too much longer or else the audience would get bored and it would become painstakingly obvious.

Anyway, I enjoyed the movie in its entirety. Don't understand what all the fuss is about the picture. Anyone who trashes it because it's too unrealistic or it doesn't make sense should probably avoid watching Sci Fi...

I wasn't referring to the mystery of his condition, I was referring to the mystery of who the bomber was.

It is a reasonably engaging and intelligent sci-fi thriller, but how could it not be when it draws so heavily from one of the most intellectually brilliant sci-fi films of all time, La Jetee (1962), which itself was inspired by the one of greatest films of all time, Vertigo (1958)? With a cinematic lineage like that, failure would be incredibly disappointing. Instead the film feels like a 21st century update of earlier masterpieces, with some terrorism and militaristic posturing thrown in to reflect today's cultural preoccupations.

I agree with u m8! this is indeed a very good movie...but it has a major flaw tho... coz if they thought that they were able to extract the last 8 minutes of a persons memory...okay fair enough...thats acceptable...but how can Jake find out whats not in that persons memory!! like if that person died in the train then...how could he have memories about what happened in the station since he did no get down....well at the end they show that he actually went to an alternate universe which makes sense about finding whats not there in that persons memory...
m still a bit confused about that part...but any ways apart from that the movie was really good... and most important of all....there are fictions....so y bother about their mistakes that much...lol.... their presentation was awesome thats enuff... is people complaints about this movie i would say that they dont know how to enjoy a good movie :P

Absolutely nothing in the movie makes any sense, even from a sci-fi perspective.

So, one can enjoy it, but you have to bang your head continually against something hard while watching it.

Or maybe get really drunk first.

Or be born with the IQ of a turnip.

It definitely was well made, but just so utterly ridiculous.
