My god. I’m sitting here in disbelief... I didn’t need a perfect happy ending, but this just felt so hopeless and sad. After everything Jon has done and fought for, this is what he deserves? Bran is king!? I can’t

shareI was fine with it, Jon left to live with the Wildlings and will presumably start a family of Targaryen’s North of the Wall. I would have loved to of seen Drogon circling above Jon at the end, following his new master however.
The ghost of Ned Stark must be smiling, his son is King and daughter is Queen, how’s that for revenge!
I doubt it will happen but who knows, 20 years from now a spin off, I’d love to see the adventures of Arya Stark and her crew, plus a tale about the children of Aegon Targaryen.
Yeah, well, I want to see the sequel about The War of Five Kings and Independent Dorne, that happens after Bran dies without an heir.

What's sad about Bran being King or Sansa being named Queen of the North? Or any other characters fate?
Did people want Jon and Dany to live happily ever after? Not going to happen. She didn't handle power well, ultimately.
I'm not saying that I liked the ending here but in one sense it's a perfect ending, by the fact that it finished with everything playing out boringly and safe. The realm is in good hands with Brandon, the Night's Watch serves little purpose anymore, and there are no horrible characters left to do cruel, hateful things. There's no drama or excitement left in the world seemingly, and if there's none of that then Game of Thrones ceases to be, hence it ending.
sharethen I am sorry to say you really have never understood the GOT, this story was never written to end what you expected, it was not a sad ending either. If you really understood Jon's role in the entire story and novels of GOT then you can see that Jon was never meant to be a king, Jon went to join the Night's watch at the beginning of the story for a reason and that reason was to be a freeman and he never wanted to be a leader, he didn't Kill Danny to be a King, but he did it to save people ; hence, Jon's sentencing and going back to the Night's watch, next to the freefolk was actually very fitting and even Tormand told him you belong to the north because your heart is the north.
shareI felt completely the opposite, I thought it was too much of a happy ending that Jon ended up going north! I thought it was almost unbelievable the Dothraki, Unsullied and Drogon didn't kill Jon for what he did to Dany. Those killers, lettintg Jon live, and Greyworm just taking Jon prisoner? Jon was lucky to be alive...he should have been killed in the final episode.
