I liked the episode overall but this bit was my biggest gripe with it. Simply no way to explain this one.
I felt completely the opposite, I thought it was too much of a happy ending that Jon ended up going north! I thought it was almost unbelievable the Dothraki, Unsullied and Drogon didn't kill Jon for what he did to Dany. Those killers, lettintg Jon live, and Greyworm just taking Jon prisoner? Jon was lucky to be alive...he should have been killed in the final episode.
People have different levels of expectations, some (like me) are more easily pleased than others.
And there was a lot to be pleased by, despite the pacing/writing issues - acting was great from many of the cast, score was brilliant throughout, some of the cinematography was the best I've seen in the entire series, particularly some of the shots with Dany in it - technically I'd say it was one of the best of the series, if not the best.
For many (probably you included), none of that matters much if the writing/pacing is poor. For others (me included), those other aspects can mitigate for writing/pacing issues. Different people value different things in a show too, to differing levels.
agreed. loved the last episode.
wasn't perfect but i liked it and was sad it all ended. The final season was great!
Otter just because someone liked season 8 doesn't mean they are trolling. If thats what you think you're just not able to accept that others have a different view to you. As you can see others liked the final season, it's not just me being an 'intern'. You might be totally unable to fathom why/how someone could like the final season, but that doesn't matter - if someone likes the final season, they have the right to say so, without being accused of trolling, or being an intern for the guys who work on the show. We're all allowed to have our own different opinions no matter how little you understand nor agree with them.
I liked the finale, a satisfying conclusion to a legendary show. It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough for me.
Time to get out of that bubble.
You make it sound like I'm the only person who's loving it. About half of the people I know watch GoT, and I'd say about half of them are still enjoying season 8.
Also, check out the social media posts from media outlets etc criticising season 8, or posts about the petition to get season 8 re-done. Look at the comments under those posts - so many people defending the season saying they have enjoyed/loved it.
Nobody can deny the writing/pacing issues, but people have varying degrees of how much that impacts their enjoyment of this season. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being it completely ruins this season, and 1 being it doesn't ruin this season at all - I'd put myself as a 2.
I know, you can talk about whatever you like within the rules of the forum. But so can I...and calling people out for diverting from the OP's topic doesn't contravene any rules of the forum, so it is my right to do that also.
I agree what she did is nothing like the actions of her character from seasons 1-7. But she isn't the same character she was in seasons 1-7. Losing many of her loved ones, and finding out the truth about Jon...she hasn't been the same since. Whilst the pacing certainly could have been better and it was a sudden turn, that hasn't been much of an issue for me like it has been with many of you. Which I'm thankful for, as I'm still loving season 8!
