The pacing for episodes is so quick, and hardly anything in the show makes any sort of sense anymore! Characters just teleport across Westeros, while D&D decide to focus in on useless shit, like Brienne being a virgin and Tormund drinking. It honestly feels like a soap opera now. Man, now that they are off the books, this show has gone to shit quick. It makes me sad tbh.

I agree with all of this. I do think it is unfair to place all of the blame on D&D and the HBO writers. They are good when they have source material to work with, but clearly struggle when they don't. GRRM has had plenty of time to produce new material, but he just doesn't. A big reason the show is flailing is because he is a little (or a lot) lazy.

Or maybe this is all a part of his Machiavellian plan to have us buy his yet unwritten books. We need a satisfying end to the story.

I agree it is all too rushed. The writing has suffered terribly and its hard to care anymore. They wrote an ending, started backtracking but didn't give themselves enough runway to flesh it out and make it logical, consistent, and meaningful.
