Daenerys' obesity
She's clearly mocking the fans:

That's not obese. As you grow older, it's easier to put on weight, and her lack of height doesn't help either. The shorter you are, every pound of weight you put on makes you look much fatter than a tall person putting on the same amount of weight.
It has only been this half century that people expect their Royals to be 'slim and trim'. For centuries, in all civilisations, being portly equated to health and wealth. I mean, they thought Empress Sissi of Austria was crazy because she was a fitness fanatic that was obsessed with being slim. Now you look at the new Royals, and they are all slim and fit. But if they would have looked like that just two hundred years ago, people would have thought they were and ill and not well money-wise.
So I say if Emilia Clark really wanted to go full Method acting as Daenerys.....she should pile on the weight! Seriously...😊
Nonsense! Have you been paying attention to what Daenerys was going through? Especially her physical challenges? And overweight royalties is just a post-medieval thing. Before that males were often marching with the armies, and were trained to wield swords professionally.
shareShe's not a male. She has done no 'fighting'. She has servants to do everything. She goes from horse to dragon, doesn't need to walk at all. And don't forget she had a child too.
If she was a Method Actor, she would have been 2 sizes bigger than what she is now.
One doesn't need to be a method actor to stop stuffing one's gob with burgers. She's turning into a whale.
shareMust be all that nice Irish Stew! lol
shareWhatever it is, she should stop eating like a man.
shareBtw, in the same photo you can see gorgeous Lena. Older than Emilia but no signs or your "aging" obesity.
shareAh ha, but Lena is much taller than Emilia. And who cares if they put on weight? They are BOTH meant to be 'royalty', so they should be nice and portly imo, like Robert Baratheon was. Ha!
shareRobert was deliberately eating, shitting and drinking himself to an early grave. He was eating extra. Like Emilia does now. Daenerys walked through a desert as a dothraki prisoner and still maintained heavy weight after that. Very unprofessional attitude by Dumb&Dumber and the orca.
shareif you think shes obese in that photo I seriously surgest re-evaluating your life
shareSo, have you ever been on imdb GoT boards?
shareWe would have to see how the sados posting there looked themselves, hey?
One thing I hated about the IMDB GoT board was how sexist it was. Hopefully, things won't get that bad here because it's really pathetic to have a bunch of flabby losers criticising females actresses on their looks, 'wah, she's gotten real old', wah, she's put on weight', 'wah why doesn't she show us her tits?'. Real puerile loser stuff.
You really think it was sexism? How naive. It was a special kind of humour.
shareMaster_lo, I didn't mean your post was sexist, rather that many posts in the old IMDB GoT board WERE. And blatantly so.
shareI mean on imdb (GoT boards specifically, can't speak for other subforums). At some point people started to delve deeper into absurdity. The more was tolerated the darker the jokes became. I don't think there was a single "sexist" poster there. I mean, yes, for mainstream feminists (not you) every single thing is sexism, but over there body shaming, sexist jokes, racial jokes walked on a fine edge between seriousness and dark humour.
shareFat is when you can stick a sword in someones stomach, and their stomach swallows up the sword. Like boogie2988 of youtube fame, or the guy mentioned in the Bible that was so fat he literally did swallow a sword with his stomach.
Emilia Clarke is not fat.
She's a terrible actress and not hot at all, but she isn't fat.
shareI agree she's a terrible actress. Couldn't they have found a better one, hey?
shareAlways liked her. Did not like the lack of progress in her storyline the last seasons, which hopefully gets much better very soon, but the actress and character is fine. From personal taste very attractive too. The OP calling her "obese" based on that picture is for sure trying to carry over the "special humour" of the old GOT-board here.
shareoh please.
