Anyone else think this movie was Bollocks?

After a whole load of hype 4/5 star reviews great IMDB I went and saw this film and what a waste it was. Boring, looked low budget, rubbish story, uneventful and utterly dreadful. I was struggling to keep my eyes open after the first hour.

I have voted this a 2/10 on IMDB and I suggest those who agreed with me to vote low to make the score more accurate.

Boring, fell asleep, eventually just went to bed. Interesting-at-first cultural scenes got old real fast, for me, anyway.

Its more then just being realistic. The film paints a picture of a city so corrupt that crime can be found in every aspect of its citizens every day lives. I really don't think the film would have been able to portray such a devastating picture if it had opted to include characters we "care" for or "plots" that excite us. Gomorra succeeds (for me anyway) because it completely deglamourizes the criminal activities and makes them seem even mundane and in doing that it achieves perfectly in portraying a world where Mafia is so deeply ingrained that there is absolutely no escaping it.

just saw this film, my friend hated it but I'm more willing to say it was a very unique and intersting take on scum life in Napoli. If you view the mafia as something you'd like to do someday if given the chance, you will hate this film. If you (like myself) have come to slowly dust off all the glam mob films you grew up on and realize that actual mobsters are ALL scummy, worthless and parasitic then you may get more out of it.

Seeing this makes me want to gather up members of every organized crime family in the world and KILL THEM ALL! They don't deserve trials or any other luxury of our modern society, for they take advantage of every ounce of goodwill found in humanity and rape it for money and power. These people are a huge reason for the misery in this world, and for the ineffectiveness of governments to bring about real change for their communities. I may be prone to trusting people and forgiving ill deeds, but as for these lowlifes I say its time to fight fire with fire.

none of those things make it a good movie, though they don't make it a bad movie either.

Yes....Big Bollox !
Total dull, bleak, boring movie.
Ok, it was filmed in a very realistic way and looked like a documentary. But I thought the story was too loose and dull. I am a fan of gangster movies and I will not be adding this to my list of favorites.

absolutely...give up all this in depth discussion of how great a movie this is and admit it was a snoozer! gritty reality, yeah whatever, just cos it´s filmed in doc style with a wobbly camera doesn´t make it good or interesting...seems that most people here are sheep and pretend to be high brow instead of just facing the facts...it´s over long, disjointed and overall BORING! So in answer to your question Shezno I agree but would go further and say it was *beep* BOLLOCKS.

It's a good film. Less like City of God, more like an Antonioni or Bunuel film. In other words, it's a true art-house film.
