Your thoughts?

Intermittently gripping and often gorgeous to look at, but takes itself far too seriously and ultimately doesn't amount to anything terribly interesting. It's basically a visually arresting soap opera with artistic pretentions, but very little true substance. It never quite transcends the lurid melodrama at its core, despite Almodovar's obvious ambition to pass it off as some clever meditation on the nature of cinema in general. I mostly enjoyed it for what it is, but I doubt I'll remember it very long. It certainly is rather stylish and aesthetically accomplished though. 6 or 6.5 out of 10.

I'd rate it a 6. of the 9 films i've seen from Pedro Almodóvar it would be ranked 6th. Bad Education has yet to be topped.
