When the Nerd crew hooked up with all the women, save the horny drunk Indian guy, the show lost its appeal to me. It's easy to fulfill the longing needs of the main characters but doing so you ruin the very thing that makes the show funny. Sheldon's a spectrum-heavy savant yet they rewrote him to be a tolerable love-bug to his his girl Amy, and of course fingernail filing Leonard won over ditzy Jen-Aniston-lite Penny and our man Howard who was hilarious when he desperately tried but always failed with his Skaflunk-brother pick up lines to only make him win the heart of Super Yenta Bernadette. It turned into a quasi-I-Love-Lucy meets Three's Neutered Company.

Penny may have seen him as a cash cow. He probably appeals to women who think he will be easy to control.
